Hands Off Uhuru! Hands Off Africa! Counteroffensive statement in support of Los Ronderos de las Redes and members of the Peruvian diaspora.
December 6, 2023
On the week of the anniversary of the latest right-wing coup against the rightful president of Peru, important international actions are being held by Los Ronderos de las Redes, and other Peruvian collectives denouncing the recent pardon and release of ex-dictator Alberto Fujimori who had been imprisoned for coordinating brutal genocide against the Indigenous people of Peru.Â
The right-wing abduction and subsequent imprisonment of former president, leader, school teacher, patrolman and union leader Pedro Castillo Terrones, led to the corrupt criminal government of dictator Dina Boluarte and the far-right political mafia now in charge who pardoned notorious ex-dictator Alberto Fujimori, perpetrator of genocide of indigenous Peruvians.
Dina Bolouarte called in the U.S. backed military last year to slaughter students demonstrating against her regime, killing at least 69 civilians and injuring 2,000 people. Numerous protests and chants denouncing the Boularte regime shout: !Fuera Dina asesina! Dina asesina el pueblo te repudia! and ¡Justicia para las vĂctimas de represiĂłn!
Los Ronderos de la Redes and the peoples of the Peruvian diaspora are calling on everyone to hold actions Dec 9-12 to stand in solidarity and denounce the historical attacks on the human and democratic rights of the people. Actions are being held in the following cities across the US: New York, Washington, D.C., and Southern California, including Los Angeles, CA. Hold an action in your city.
The Hands Off Uhuru! Hands Off Africa! Counteroffensive recognizes that historical and ongoing attacks on the democratic rights of oppressed and colonized peoples of the world are expressions of colonialism, neocolonialism and the colonial mode of production at work. Hands Off Uhuru! Hands Off Africa! support the right of Peruvian and all oppressed and colonized peoples to free themselves from our parasitic relationship to this social system and the struggle to achieve freedom and independence in our lifetime.
Los Ronderos de la Redes is a member organization of the Hands Off Uhuru! Fightback Coalition.
